Here at the Learning Lab we’re very excited to share this annual celebration off all things books and reading with our customers.
World Book Day tokens will be distributed in schools across the country and can be used to claim a free book from a selection specially chosen for World Book Day, or to get €1.50 off any full price book worth €3.99 or more, until the 25th of March.
Created by award-winning publishers Barrington-Stoke, who make fantastic books for dyslexic readers, comes a dictionary designed for struggling spellers.
To use this Spelling dictionary the child simply looks up the word based on how they might phonetically spell it.
Finding the word in black means they’ve spelled the word right (and is a great confidence booster), but finding it in red (meaning they were incorrect) isn’t a bad thing. They will see the correct spelling right next to it, and the act of looking it up can often help the correct spelling to stay in their head.
The Learning Lab in Celbridge will be making an appearance at Castletown Christmas Market this Sunday 17th December. The market will be open from 11-5 and we will be showcasing a range of our toys and puzzles.
It is a great day out for the family with plenty of food options. The Red Embers theatre will be doing a reading from Dickens A Christmas Carol at 12noon in the Hunting room. This is free admission on a first come basis.
St. Mary`s Gospel Choir from Leixlip will also be singing from 2pm in the marquee.
We will be situated in the stables part of the market and we hope to see you there.
Below are the opening hours for our Celbridge store during the busy festive period. We are closed between Christmas & the New Year as we digest our Christmas pudding 🙂 We are open this Sunday and the following Sunday which is Christmas Eve. Only 12 sleeps to go!!!
