Halloween Arts & Crafts Activity: Creepy Spider Bunting

Happy Halloween from all of us here at the Learning to our wonderful customers! We are really in the spooky, scary mood this year for Halloween and we want to share some of the spookiness with you. We have devised this creepy Halloween arts and crafts activity to not only give you some ideas for spending time together over the Halloween break, but it also works as a great homemade decoration to add some of the scary factor to your home. Arts and crafts are a great way to spend some time with your kids, whilst also encouraging them to use their creativity and imagination skills. So, here is how you can make your very own creepy spider bunting for this Halloween.

Make sure to ask an adult to help you with your Halloween arts and crafts adventure!

What You Will Need:

Method:

To make the spiders:
  • Using the black card, cut out a minimum of three large circles but you can do as many as you like. Then, split those circles in half, creating six semicircles. Make sure to ask an adult to help with any step that involves using a scissors. If you don’t have any black card, you can use paper plates and paint them black. If you want to customise your craft, use different colour cards to add in some colour.
  • Glue some googly eyes on each semi circle. You can use lots of googly eyes to give your spiders a truly scary look.
  • Finally, use the pipe cleaners to make the legs of the spiders. We would recommend using different coloured pipe cleaners to give your spiders a creepy crawly look!
  • Add some scary designs if you are feeling creative!
To make the bunting:
  1. Make sure to ask an adult to help you assemble your spider bunting! Using sticky tape or glue, attach the flat end of your scary spiders to the string, leaving some space in between each spider.
  2. Et voila, you have your very own spider bunting. You can display your spider bunting anywhere in your home that you think needs some spookification this Halloween.
